Community Service Projects
At Mandála all of our employees are from the area and we only use local goods and services.
We support the local community and participate in community service projects.
Nurseries
From our garden nursery we provide plants and trees for reforestation projects and to beautify the village of Puerto López.
Day Care Centres
We also participate in community projects, for example we are “godparents” for ten local day care centres, and each year we give them useful gifts like tables, beds, durable games, etc.
Whale and Dolphin Museum (Extinction is Forever)
The most important project is the development of an open air museum about whales and dolphins to foster environmental education and conscious tourism. Our “Naturaleza y Arte” Foundation continues to develop this project.
In conjunction with the Pacific Whale Foundation and musician Astrid Pape, we have produced a CD of jazz music with whale sounds, whose sale helps to benefit the project. We also sell T-shirts and handicrafts to finance the museum. Contributions or assistance are always welcome.
